“V008 is now live and in order to upgrade you MUST be attached to the internet. If you do not download the latest version of GiftEase we cannot take any responsibility for your tax claims post March 31st 2010. Please note for any clients whose data we look after your data has automatically been updated to v008.
For GiftEase Fundraiser and GiftEase Professional clients, reinforcing our message that GiftEase is THE leading software for Gift Aid tax reclamation, based on HMRC rules and monitored constantly by G.A.V.E (Gift Aid Validation Engine) the new main features to note are:
•In line with changes made by HMRC, reduction in the RQP (Retrospective Qualifying Periods) from 6 to 4 years based on your own years ends
•In line with changes made by HMRC, the new layout for your accounting period for tax claims - please check your accounting month BEFORE running a tax claim, as once run this process is irreversible. This process covers all available RQP’s.
•The extremely powerful synching process which now gives you access to all those supporters/members on your database who have failed Gift Aid and the reasons why.
•Query Builder Lite, which allows you to query/report/export – we have added a few selections to get you going- this feature can be found in the “Find advanced” area
You will also note the Refund tax claim area in the tax claim menus – this is still be finalised and will be available in v008, at which point you will be able to refund any donations claimed in error either by running a specific refund “tax claim” or by offsetting it against a current tax claim.
GiftEase Lite users please note that whilst you will continue to benefit from any HMRC changes free downloads, when v008 is released you will not have access to the following areas:
•List of supporters and reason for failing Gift Aid although you will know how many have failed
•Query builder Lite
•Tax Claim refund
•As well as any area currently reserved for GiftEase Fundraiser or Professional clients.
